Fjärran HYP Oasis – Hydration Method™ personal water purifier filter and water container.
1. How HYP/Fjärran Oasis Works
Thank you for choosing HYP/Fjärran Oasis. This product removes and lowers the levels of viruses,
bacteria, and protozoan cysts, and reduces particulates, chemicals, and heavy metals, which are often found in untreated freshwater sources, and
makes the water safer to drink, but that requires it to be used correctly as
instructions in this manual.
Our electropositive media technology has been in site conditions for the removal and reduction of viruses, bacteria, and protozoa cysts including hepatitis A, Norovirus, Giardiasis, Cryptosporidium, E. Eoli, Cholera, Salmonella, Dysentery and more. Reduction of particulates, chemicalsl, and heavy metals such as sediments, chlorine, trace pharmaceuticals, and more.
- It is ideal for hiking, camping in nature and traveling in areas without access to clean drinking water.
- Definitions of water used in this manual
- Unpolluted freshwater = Unpolluted water (lakes, rivers, streams, etc.)
- Filtered fresh water = Drinking water
- Purified water = Purified tap water or chemically disinfected water or boiled water, disinfected water.
The technology used by Fjärran products demonstrated the ability to reduce greater than up to *99.999% percent of 0.025-micron particles.
The Fjärran technology used is independently lab-tested to meet or exceed the United States Environmental Protection Agency’s Water Purifier standard for microbiological filtration for public health and safety.

**Always use the clearest and most reliable water source possible. Stated filtration performance and lifetime are conducted under laboratory conditions. The effectiveness may be limited by the environmental or hygienic conditions that could cause the recontamination of water after filtration.
2. Safety instructions
2.1
Using Fjärran Oasis™ incorrectly or drinking unclean water means
a risk of exposure to harmful microorganisms and an increased risk of disease.
You can reduce the risk of becoming ill by following the safety instructions and
warnings in this manual and learning how to protect yourself from
diseases in the wilderness and on the move.
YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR SAFETY AND YOU’RE
THEREFORE RESPONSIBLE FOR OTHERS USING YOUR FJÄRRAN PRODUCTS, YOU MUST USE GOOD JUDGMENT.
If you use the Fjärran Oasis™ improperly, misassemble or use a damaged or
contaminated Oasis Filter™, you will be exposed to harmful microorganisms that
increase your risk of contracting diseases of the gastrointestinal tract. Read the full story here

– Never use the Fjärran Oasis™ to filter seawater, brackish water or chemically contaminated water, such as water from mine tailings ponds or
near large farms for your safety. Fjärran Oasis™ cannot make clean water from such
potable and only lowers the potential chemicals and does not remove radioactive materials.
– The lid of the Fjärran Oasis™ must be threaded on properly when filling to avoid
the risk of fluid leakage and illness. Only have the red nozzle (pipe) in contact with the water.
– Avoid putting the Fjärran Oasis™ lid under water when filling or using the Fjärran Oasis™.
Hold the Fjärran Oasis™ body or Lid Holder (top) when opening or closing the Fjärran Oasis™.
– Avoid placing the Fjärran Oasis™ lid including the Oasis Filter™ on the ground or in contact with a potentially contaminated surface to avoid harmful contaminants coming into contact with the Fjärran Oasis™ interior when opening/removing the lid from the container.
2.2
If you drop the Fjärran Oasis™ in untreated fresh water, you must clean and disinfect the Fjärran Oasis completely before
using it. Never use the Fjärran Oasis™ if it is damaged or
contaminated.
– Protect the outlets (Fjärran Oasis™ without cover) so that it is not contaminated
by unclean fresh water or unclean fresh water come in contact with the fitted cover and never allow others to use it
(NOTE: A disease can spread if you share the drinking container with others).
– To reduce the risk when filtering water, ensure that the lid is sufficiently closed (sealed) and that only the suction-nozzle™ is in contact with untreated water.
– In the event of full or significant contact with untreated fresh water, wipe off the Fjärran Oasis™ before use to reduce the risk of potential contamination.
– Never filter other substances or liquids besides untreated fresh water with your
Fjärran Oasis™, it may damage or contaminate the Oasis Filter™.
– We highly recommend that you always replace the Oasis Filter™ if it has been used for a period of three (3) months of time and before the informed filter lifespan has been reached for your safety, to avoid pathogenic mold and mildew, or
bacterial growth.
What should be the handling during long-term storage?
Before putting your Fjärran Oasis away post-adventure, thoroughly dry out the cartridge to prevent the growth of mildew and odors. Dry the cartridge by performing one-five ‘dry collapse’ by collapsing the Fjärran Oasis with the wet filter from full position to portable position with the pipe open without having any water in the container. Allow the Oasis Filter to air-dry thoroughly (depending on humidity it will take 2-4 days to completely dry). Hand wash all other parts with warm, soapy water. For long-term storage, reassemble the unit to create an airtight seal for storage. An Oasis Filter can last up to three years after opening if cared for properly between uses.
– Never disinfect the Oasis Filter™ or the beverage opening with
detergent or in a microwave oven. The high heat can damage or melt
the parts. The Lid Holder “without Oasis Filter™” and all parts can be placed in the top rack of a dishwasher.
– Always look for the best possible fresh water source.
– Always handle the Fjärran Oasis™ with care.
– If you are going on a long trip, take an extra Oasis Filter™ with you.
– READ AND FOLLOW ALL instructions and safety instructions in the this manual before using the Fjärran Oasis™. If you do not
follow all safety instructions and directions, you risk exposure to harmful and disease-causing microorganisms.

3. Important safety information
Read this before using Fjärran Oasis™
When traveling abroad, camping or hiking, you may be at risk of
illnesses ranging from unpleasant and troublesome diarrhea to serious
diseases caused by protozoan cysts (e.g. Giardia, Cryptosporidium),
viruses and bacteria. or potential other harmful contaminations or pollutions.
Microorganisms that cause such diseases are often found in drinking water and in
the food you eat.
Lakes, rivers and streams and ordinary tap water may also contain contaminants.
To reduce the risk of contracting such diseases, we recommend that
consult your doctor, the National Board of Health or a tourist clinic 4-6 weeks before
departure.
And when you are traveling, make sure that all food you cook is thoroughly cooked
according to the cooking instructions. Make sure that all foods that do not require
cooking (e.g. fruit, nuts) have intact shells and always wash your hands with
hand sanitizer before peeling them. Wash your hands thoroughly and
frequently with soap and warm water (and use hand sanitizer), especially
before eating or cooking. And if you’re traveling in a group, encourage everyone to
wash your hands often. It’s enough for one member of the group not to wash their hands
for microorganisms to spread to shared equipment.
Do not share personal items (i.e. lip balm, cutlery, toothbrushes, water bottles, Fjärran Oasis™
or the mouthpieces of fluid bladders) with others. Ensure that all food is properly
prepared and fully cooked. Filter all drinking water with your Fjärran Oasis™
according to the instructions in this manual, including water that you
brush your teeth, wash your face or similar.
To higher your safety, you can use an EPA-approved disinfectant, such as purifying tablets or other alternatives, to be added to the clean water by the Fjärran Oasis™ (NOTE: Follow the disinfectant instructions and wait for the disinfectant to take effect) or boil the water (it must be boiled for at least one (1) minute).

5. Setting up the product
Activate Fjärran Oasis™
Activate Fjärran Oasis™ by filling Fjärran Oasis™ to remove harmless particles and dust. See the next section on Normal Use for information on how to filter the water.
6. Normal usage
- Before filling ensure that the Fjärran Oasis™ cap threads seal against each other. The Fjärran Oasis™ filling position is in the compressed portable position.
- Fill the Fjärran Oasis™ with unpurified fresh water (not salt water or brackish water) from the best possible water source (e.g. lakes, rivers or streams with clear water or a water tap or fountain) through the Nozzle™ by expanding the Fjärran Oasis™ from the portable position to full size. (see figure 4)
IMPORTANT: Wipe off any uncontaminated fresh water from the outside of the Fjärran Oasis™ before drinking.
- After filling, open the Fjärran Oasis™ by holding the top or body and unscrewing the top cap in a counterclockwise direction (see Figure 5).
- Quench your thirst with filtered fresh water from your Fjärran Oasis™ -as if from a glass! (see figure 6).

7. User/application tips
Always using the best possible freshwater source will increase the life of your Oasis Filter™. Avoid stagnant water or water in areas where there are many people or animals for the filter lifetime and for your personal or user’s safety.
Take care of your Fjärran Oasis™ to ensure it is working properly.
- A) If the Fjärran Oasis™ leaks between the top cover and the intermediate piece.
Unscrew the top cover and then screw it back on.
Check that the top cover is aligned with the threads on the
Fjärran Oasis™ intermediate piece and tighten it securely.
- B) If the Fjärran Oasis™ is subjected to hard knocks or blows, e.g. if you drop it,
you should replace it with a new Oasis Filter before using it for your safety.
IMPORTANT: Do not touch the filter media with a tool or your fingers.
If you are unable to fill the Fjärran Oasis normally, the Oasis Filter™ must be replaced.
-> If you are going on a long trip, you should take an extra Oasis Filter™ with you.
8. Long-term storage
What should be the handling during long-term storage?

NOTE: Always use a new Oasis Filter every new season or long-term storage for your safety and for the best user experience.
9. CHANGING THE FILTER CARTRIDGE AND FILTER CAPACITY
The lifetime and water quality of the Oasis Filter™ depends on the quality of the water.
For the best possible filter function and for your safety, the Oasis Filter™ must be replaced before or up to 280 liters or the filling time goes over 90 seconds with pulling force or stops.
NOTE: If you not using your Fjärran Oasis regularly or daily you need to follow the long-term storage instruction for your safety.
*We highly recommend that you always use a new Oasis Filter every new season for your safety and for the best user experience.
Installing a new Oasis Filter™
You can purchase a new Oasis Filter™ for your Fjärran Oasis™ through www.fjarran.com, Fjärran retail partners or from the retailer where you purchased your Fjärran Oasis™.
The Oasis Filter™ can be replaced or upgraded by turning the Oasis Filter™ mounted in the top cover counterclockwise and
removing the Oasis Filter™ from the top cover.
Install a new Oasis Filter™ by screwing it into the top cover (bayonet socket) in a clockwise
direction.
(NOTE: Ensure clean and disinfected hands and contact surfaces when replacing the Oasis Filter™)
10. Fjärran Oasis basic warranty
1 YEAR BASIC WARRANTY for Fjärran Oasis™ agains production related failures or defects. Does not include a used Oasis Filter.
- A) What the warranty covers:
We guarantee that Fjärran Oasis™ is free from defects in materials and workmanship when receiving the product.
- B) How long the warranty last
This warranty is valid for six (6) months from the date of purchase of your
Fjärran Oasis™.
*Normal usage of the product.
- C) What Fjärran does:
Fjärran may choose to repair or replace your Fjärran Oasis™ in the event of
defects in materials or workmanship during the one-year warranty period.
- D) What the warranty does not cover
The warranty does not cover defects resulting from improper use
or intentional damage to the product or the instructions for use,
care, cleaning, incorrect installation and storage instructions contained in this manual are not
have been followed. Nor does this warranty cover any form of compensation
for indirect or consequential damages arising from the use of the product.

11. Product Specifications
Flow rate: up to 0.5 liters of water in 15-60 seconds depending on pulling force or self-expanding filling (filling time varies between users).
